Biography

(She/Her) Summer Swee-Singh is a non-music major (B.A. Legal Studies, Music Minor: UC Berkeley) turned composer, music arranger, music dierctor, studio/touring pianist + keyboardist, and string contractor. Her studio and touring/live performance credits include Bebe Rexha, KSHMR, Roddy Ricch, Chief Keef, Circa Survive, Polyphia, Chon, Naia Izumi, Anthony Green, Rob Scallon, Keiynan Lonsdale, Thunder Jackson, Until the Ribbon Breaks, Kings Elliot, Mothe, Psychic Barber, etc. Summer founded all-female orchestral ensemble Summer Swee-Singh & the Heartstrings and co-founded and music directs JAMS. She releases music as a solo artist and with her project GRP.

Biography

Summer Swee-Singh

Summer Swee-Singh is a composer, studio/touring pianist + keyboardist, music arranger, music director, orchestrator, backing vocalist, project manager, A&R rep, and social media manager. Summer was classically trained on piano from ages 7 - 17 and flourished on it, placing 2nd in the 2007 Dan Stover Music Competition: Southern California Region, but was discouraged to pursue music beyond high school. As a hobby, Summer continued playing piano and arranging her own covers by ear in her spare time during her undergraduate years; she graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Legal Studies and Music Minor. She then had her sights set on law school, working full-time at an internationally-known law firm as a recruiter, before pivoting to a music career with no music connections. Summer has since taught herself to arrange and compose for full orchestra and and how to music direct and be a bandleader and string contractor. Summer has now racked up many notable studio and tour/live performance credits including Bebe Rexha, Polyphia, Anthony Green, KSHMR, Roddy Ricch, Chon, Circa Survive, Keiynan Lonsdale, Naia Izumi, Rob Scallon, Kings Elliot, Gashi, Thunder Jackson, Until the Ribbon Breaks, Alexandra Shipp, Mothe, Nikitaa, Psychic Barber, TEDx, etc. Summer is currently officially endorsed by Nord Keyboards and Ultimate Ears (in-ear monitors).

Aside from performing, composing, arranging, music directing, and musician contracting, Summer also prides herself in her social media management, recruiting, contract writing, project management, and administrative skills. Summer also is a contracted A&R Lead for the artist-focused, community-based platform We Are Giant, mainly recruiting across a range of emerging indie artists to classical artists to established YouTube music creators on an invite-only basis. She additionally formerly ran two music Instagram accounts (@keysuniversity and @vocaluniversity from 2018-2020), growing them by a combined total of 70,000 followers during her time managing the accounts. Summer also runs her own social media and has acquired over 30,000 combined followers on her personal profiles across Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok. Summer has extensive recruiting experience from Jones Day San Francisco (Summer Associate and Legal Staff Recruiting - Legal Recruiting), Summer Swee-Singh & the Heartstrings (Musician Recruiting), and Cal Women's Volleyball (NCAA D1 Athletic Recruiting). She additionally founded a blog called AAPI Musicians and is it's sole writer and interviewer.
