About

Frisson Films creates videos focused on the filmed expression of classical music through the collaboration of artists of all disciplines, and increase the knowledge of the general public about classical music by inviting the general public to film showings or other similar programs. Frisson Films was co-founded in New York City by filmmaker Ryan Rivard and opera singer Elyse Anne Kakacek. Our goal is to provoke the discovery of classical music by expressing it visually. We collaborate with artists of all disciplines. We empower classical musicians to express themselves without the boxes. Each year we screen our projects in a warehouse in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for a live audience- releasing multiple mixed media short films: L’Eraclito Amoroso (2018), Behold the Archer’s Skill (2019) and Don’t You Weep When I’m Gone (2020), two of which have been screened internationally in NYC, London, and Beeston ‘19, ‘20. We are continually cultivating a community of musicians, filmmakers, and artists willing to experiment on creating these films.
