Biography

Kyungmin (Gammi) Eom

South Korean flutist, Kyungmin Eom, praised as a “unique  flutist” with “colorful tones” (Busan Ilbo, 2014), is a fearless and bold performer. She is currently pursuing her Post Professional Diploma at The Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Robert Langevin. Ms.Eom received her Master’s Degree from The Juilliard School. Ms. Eom has won numerous awards and honors; most recently, she won 1st Prize in the 2019 In-je University Music Competition. In 2018, Kyungmin was a semi-finalist of the Busan Music Competition. Kyungmin also won 2nd prize in the Music Association of Korea Competition in 2014. From the moment she first heard the flute solos in Ravel’s “Bolero” as a child, Ms. Eom has been inspired to pursue a career as a symphonic musician. In 2015, Kyungmin was engaged as Principal Flute with the Busan Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (South Korea). Kyungmin has performed as a soloist with the Busan National Philharmonic Orchestra, Busan Youth Orchestra, In-je University Orchestra, Charm Woodwind Ensemble, In-je Flute Ensemble, and Viento Flute Ensemble. She shared the stage with the In-je flute ensemble at the National Flute Association in 2018 and at the 10th Singapore Flute Festival.
Kyungmin participated in the Gonjiam Flute Festival, where she had masterclasses with Mathieu Dufour, Michael M Kofler, Irina Stachinskaya, and Catherine Cantin. In addition, she has had masterclasses with Andras Adorjan, Sooyun Kim, Jean-Michel Tanguy, Yerin Lee and Carol Wincenc.

Over the years, Kyungmin Eom has been supported by Arts-vision Financial Aid from the Minister of Education, BNK Financial Group, and received “The Music Camp" certificate.

Away from the flute, Kyungmin enjoys photography, fitness and spending time with her cat.
