Gerard Schneider

In the 2020-2021 season, Gerard continues as the member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt in title role in Werther and Lenski in Eugene Onegin, among others. He will make his house debut at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden as Alfredo in La Traviata. He will also join the Tirol Festival in Erl, Austria, as both the titles role in Mascagni’s L’amico Fritz and the Köningssohn in the newly rescheduled production of Humperdinck’s Königskinder. Gerard also makes another important debut at the Teatro Real Madrid in his signature role of the Prince in Dvořák's Rusalka. In the 19/20 season, Gerard continued his work at Oper Frankfurt, performing as Lyonel in Martha, the Duca in Rigoletto and as Narraboth in Barrie Kosky’s new production of Salome. Gerard also appeared as the Prince in a new production of Rusalka with the Tiroler Festspiele Erl in Austria, as well as Duca in Staatsoper Stuttsgart's Rigoletto. Gerard's credits also include Rodolfo at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Prince in Rusalka at Oper Frankfurt, the Pasterz in Szymanowski's Krol Roger at Oper Frankfurt, and Dimitri in Risurrezione at the Wexford Festival, among others. Due to cancellations as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gerard was unable to appear as the Prince in new productions of Rusalka at the Garsington and Edinburgh Festivals, as Falsacappa in a new production of Offenbach’s Die Banditen at Oper Frankfurt, or in the title role of Humperndinck's Königskinder at Tiroler Festspiele Erl.
