Solomon Reynolds

A native of Houston, TX, Samoan American tenor Solomon Reynolds has equal passions for classical music and indie pop. Solomon is a three-time Encouragement Award recipient of the Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition in the Houston, Utah, and Los Angeles Districts. He recently performed as Perchik in the First Nat'l Tour of Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Tony-Award winning director Bartlett Sher.

Highlights from the 2019-20 season include Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at Indiana University Opera and Ballet Theater, the tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Lafayette Master Chorale, and Lucas in Hadyn’s The Seasons with the University Chorale at Indiana University. Additional recent roles include Monostatos in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Aspen Music Festival and School (cancelled due to COVID-19), Gastone in Verdi’s La traviata at Indiana University, Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, Nathanaël in Offenbach’s Les contes d'Hoffmann and Count Almaviva (Cover) in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Aspen Music Festival and School, Nanki-Poo in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado at Brigham Young University, and Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Utah Vocal Arts Academy.

Solomon has studied with world-renowned soprano Carol Vaness at Indiana University and The Juilliard School's Darrell Babidge. An enthusiastic baroque performer, Solomon enjoyed frequently singing with the Bloomington Bach Cantata Project. In addition to stage roles, Solomon is also an active singer-songwriter under his artist name Solly. You can listen to his latest EP release “Heart Things” on all streaming platforms.
