Prize winner of the Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens, Italian- American soprano Shelley Jackson has earned critical praise in a number of title roles across Europe, combining vocal power with theatrical intensity. She recently debuted as Tosca at Malmö Opera, Anna Bolena at the Badisches Staatstheater and Opéra de Lausanne, and Manon at the Salzburg Landestheater.

A graduate of the International Opera Studio in Zürich in 2016, she sang Micaëla in Carmen and Musetta in La bohème for the theater, and created the protagonist role of Song Lian in the world premiere of Rote Laterne. In the following seasons, she sang Mimì in La bohème at the Haus für Mozart in Salzburg and Dorset Opera, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in Salzburg, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin at the Buxton Festival, and Micaëla at the Grange Festival and the Teatro Massimo Palermo, where she returned for the Petite Messe Solonelle. As an apprentice at the Santa Fe Opera, she premiered Laurent Pelly’s production on opening night of Don Pasquale as Norina, and returned for the Italian Singer in Capriccio.

Shelley has won prizes from the Veronica Dunne Competition, Concours International de Chant Marmandais, NSAL, Giargiari, Zachary, Mario Lanza, Licia Albanese- Puccini, and Liederkranz Foundations. She holds degrees from the Peabody Institute, Temple University, and the Academy of Vocal Arts, where her performances included Violetta in La traviata, Tatyana, Iolanta, and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia. In addition, she spent two years of study with Mirella Freni in Modena, Italy.
Anna Bolena was Shelley Jackson, whose soprano is supported by a great middle register, velvety and burnished, which explodes in fireworks of brilliant, powerful high notes. The volume of her voice was impressive and exciting, with a remarkable range of dynamics.. Her acting was remarkable; she managed to express all the different facets of Anna's personality..
