De'Ron McDaniel

Cleveland Native, Baritone De’Ron McDaniel is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he studied with Professor William McGraw. This past season, Mr. McDaniel debuted the role of Schaunard in La Boheme at Dayton Opera and was the baritone soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Dayton Philharmonic.

Biography

Cleveland Native, Baritone De’Ron McDaniel is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he studied with Professor William McGraw. This past season, Mr. McDaniel debuted the role of Schaunard in La Boheme at Dayton Opera and was the baritone soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Dayton Philharmonic. In past seasons, Mr. McDaniel was Studio Artist with Wolf Trap Opera, where he covered the roles of Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette and Marullo in Rigoletto. He also performed the role of Dr. Pangloss in Bernstein’s Candide at CCM. Other performances include being the baritone in Bright Eyed Joy, a cabaret featuring works by American composer Ricky Ian Gordon and CCM Opera Fusion's production of Gordon’s Intimate Apparel; a co-production with Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Opera. In past summers, Mr. McDaniel was a Festival Young Artist with the Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theater company; where he sang the the role of Jim and covered Porgy in Porgy & Bess. Past engagements include: Sciarrone in Puccini’s Tosca with Cleveland Opera Theater and Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro with Oberlin in Italy. On the concert stage, Mr. McDaniel has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Toledo Symphony.Mr. McDaniel is also a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he studied with Professor Timothy LeFebvre. During his time at Oberlin, he performed as Junius in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia and Frank Maurrant in Weill’s Street Scene.
