Ms. Haney recently joined the roster of the Metropolitan Opera for productions of Janáček’s Jenůfa and Massenet’s Werther. She performed with the New York City Opera in tours of Bizet’s Carmen and in the American premiere of Wuorinen’s Brokeback Mountain as Mrs. Beers.
Past highlights on the operatic stage include the title role in Bizet’s Carmen , The Fox in Portman’s The Little Prince , title role(s) in Massenet’s Cendrillon and Handel’s Giulio Cesare, Second Secretary to Mao in Adams' Nixon in China, Maddalena in Verdi's Rigoletto and Elizabeth Proctor in Ward's The Crucible.
In addition to her extensive and versatile operatic engagements, Ms. Haney also enjoys a busy concert career. She has made Carnegie Hall appearances as the alto soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Corigliano’s Fern Hill, and Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass. Oratorio performance highlights as Duruflé's Requiem, Mozart's Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah; Bach’s Mass in B Minor / Magnificat / St. Matthew's Passion, as well as Handel’s Messiah.
Equally at home in crossover works she is known for her interpretations of Sondheim, has made her solo debut at 54 Below, as well as worked with legendary comedienne Carol Burnett.
Upcoming engagements include Mrs. Mister in Blitzstein’s The Cradle Will Rock.
