Biography

Julie Hoeltzel

Recent roles include Glinda in The Wizard of Oz, Beth March in Little Women, Monica in The Medium, Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore, Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffman, Lola in Gallantry, Lightfoot in Cold Sassy Tree and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. She is also a coveted concert soloist, having performed in works such as the Mozart K140 Missa Brevis, Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, and Karl Jenkin’s Stella Natalis. In April 2015 she was featured in the U.S. Premiere of Howard Goodall’s Every Purpose Under the Heaven. She currently works with Houston Grand Opera's HGOCO. as a Storybook Opera Artist and Lead Teaching Artist. Her talents have taken her to work with companies such as Houston Grand Opera, Main Street Theater, Opera in the Heights, Lonestar Lyric Opera, Opera Vista, and the Houston Symphony Chorus. Academic performances have also been done with the Moores Opera Center, Kingwood Summer Opera, Seagle Music Colony, Smothers Theater at Pepperdine University, and the Franco-American Vocal Academy.
